Malmstrom YP Summer Adventure Camps


Join us this summer for Malmstrom Summer Adventure Camp! Malmstrom’s first 11-week summer camp program for Youth Programs Members ages 9-14! We have 11-weeks of jam-packed fun, field trips, base collaboration with Arts & Crafts and the Library and much more.

Week 1: Challenger Sports – Soccer Camp

Monday – Friday, June 10 – 14 | 9 am – 4 pm

Registration: April 1

Malmstrom Youth Sports will host a full day outdoor soccer camp for youth ages 8-14 years. Formerly known as “British Soccer Camp”, soccer coaches from around the world will join Malmstrom youth for a creative skills soccer summer camp. Challenger Sports camps offer creative player development techniques that focus on technical and foundational skills in a fun and safe environment. This week-long day camp will offer more than just a soccer skill building. It’s a cultural, educational, and informational program that uses soccer to teach core values of responsibility, integrity, respect, sportsmanship, and leadership.

Sports physical and shot record with current flu shot is required for participation.

Week 2: Traditional Sports Camp

Monday – Friday, June 17-18, 21 | 8 am – 1 pm

Registration: April 1

Join the Youth Center as we try out different sports throughout the week — lacrosse, volleyball, basketball, tennis and swimming! This will be a great way to try each sport and figure out which one you like best! Sports may be subject to change.

Week 3: 1889 Camp Week (All About Montana)

Monday-Friday, June 24 – 28 | 8 am – 1 pm

Registration: 1 April

In 1889 Montana officially became a state and is referred to as the Treasure State. Join us as we explore Montana’s history and discover all the TREASURE it has to offer. We’ll visit museums, have guest speakers, and have fun activities for youth to participate in.

Week 4: Teen Leadership Summit

Monday – Friday, June 29 – July 4 | Time: TBD

Registration: April 1 – June 1

Join other teens from Mountain Home, Hill and Fairchild Air Force Bases for a week of outdoor leadership adventure. Teens will ride horses, hike, raft and much more in the Sawtooth National Forest in Idaho. This camp is fully funded and supported by Air Force with the goal of guiding teens through leadership emersion in the outdoors. 

Registration for Teen Leadership Summit does not guarantee that your teen will be selected to attend due to limited space. Due to the specific nature of the camp, youth will be asked to submit a resume and an essay on a topic that will be forthcoming but focused on leadership.

Week 4: Bowling

Monday – Friday, July 1-3 | Time: TBD

Registration: April 1

Strike, turkey and gutter ball! Bowl your way to a good time this week as youth get to learn from Malmstrom’s own bowing instructors and have a chance to team up for a fun competition with other youth. Bowling lane and shoes are provided.

Must have up to date immunization due at registration. Sports physical and shot record with current flu shot is required for participation.

Week 5: Art Camp Week

Monday – Friday, July 8 – 12 | 8 am – 1 pm

Registration: April 1

Come explore the world of art with us as we visit many of the dynamic art museums in town, explore the digital arts, as well as physical arts such as pottery, ceramics, and painting!  This week we will also pay a visit to Arts & Crafts for a special project for the Youth Center.  Don’t wear your good clothes as this week we get down and dirty exploring the abstract and avant-garde. Week 6: Dinos & Digs Camp Week

Monday – Friday, July 15 – 19 | 8 am – 1 pm

Registration: April 1

Do you dig Dinos?! Dinosaurs ruled the world for millions of years and Montana was once a great dinosaur kingdom! We have an exciting week planned as youth explore many earth science activities. The field trip for the week will be to the Two Medicine Dinosaur Center, where youth will take part in their very own dig with a paleontologist!

Week 7: Camp’s Got Talent Camp Week

Monday – Friday, July 22 – 26 | 8 am – 1 pm

Registration: April 1

Do you have a talent you’d like to share? Join us this week and explore what that may be. Talent could be in the form of self-expression, set design, directing, videography, MCing and more! The end of the week will culminate in a Talent Show, hosted by the Youth Center, run by camp youth!

Week 8: 4-H Camp Week

Monday – Friday, July 29 – August 2 | 8 am – 1 pm

Registration: April 1

Head, Heart, Hands & Health- the 4 H’s of 4-H. This week we will be headstrong in the kitchen, gardening with full hearts to deliver bouquets, woodworking with our hands, and learning about how to incorporate each of these into a healthy life.

Week 9: Golf Camp at Anaconda Hills Golf Course

Monday – Friday, August 5 – 9 | 8 am – 1 pm

Registration: April 1

FOOOORRRE!! Putt, drive and chip your way to a fun week at Anaconda Hills Golf Course. Campers will travel each day to and from the golf course where they will be taught by their resident golf pro. All equipment will be provided to the youth for this camp.

Week 10: Great Outdoors Camp Week

 Monday – Friday, August 12 – 16 | 8 am – 1 pm

Registration: April 1

Let’s go camping! Get packed up we’re staying at the KOA in Helena in a yurt for two nights three days. There’s going to be cooking, hiking, site seeing, fishing, paddle boarding, campfires and more.

Week 11: STEM Camp Week

Monday – Friday, August 19 – 23 | 8 am – 1 pm

Registration: April 1

SCIENCE! Camp this week includes exposure to a variety of science fields giving youth a chance to play with science through hands-on experiments. Each field we dive into introduces concepts, tools, and a team initiative leading to clues. Youth will learn about robotics, geology, scientific methods, electricity/solar power, astronomy, chemistry, and rockets!
