Hike Crystal Lake Ice Caves

Saturday, October 5 | 6 am – 6 pm

After hiking the first 3 difficult miles through dense forest and rocky hillsides the trail will open to a picture-perfect plateau with sweeping views in all directions to include sights of the Absarokee and Grand Teton ranges. Once at the caves we will pause for lunch to admire the impressive 100-foot-wide limestone walls with towers of ice columns that appear to be growing from the frozen floor.

Mileage: 10 miles (out and back)

Elevation Gain: 2,200 Feet

Difficulty: Difficult

Cost: $20 RecOn (All Active Duty and Dependents)

$20 SAPI (Single Airman or unmarried DOD Civilian and One Guest)

$50 Reg (Married Civilians, retirees, and other base personnel)

Includes: Instruction/guide, transportation, walking sticks, and snacks

Ages: 17 and older (age 17 must be accompanied by an adult)
