Malmstrom Youth Camps

Join us this summer for Malmstrom Summer Adventure Camp! Malmstrom’s first 11-week summer camp program for Youth Programs Members ages 9-18! We have 11-weeks of jam-packed fun, field trips, Arts & Crafts, sports and much more.

Membership Options

There are two options for Youth Memberships.

Cost: Yearly Membership (October – September) – $72 (Pro-rated for the month registered) or Monthly Membership – $10

Registration Instructions

All registrations will begin on March 30 for members through the CYP-BMS Parent Portal, also known as 1 Core. If you already have an account, you can register under Summer Adventure Camp for the weeks you would like your child(ren) to attend.

Non-members will have open registration April 1.

If you do not already have an account or you have an account at another installation, please contact the Youth Center at 406-731-4634 and we will get you logged in or transferred.

Please note that your profile and any other registration paperwork (i.e., a copy of current immunizations, health assessment, if applicable medication authorization, allergy exposure response, asthma action plan, emergency medication action plan, special needs package, etc.) must be completed prior to your child’s/youth’s attendance in CYP.

Identifying Special Needs: If your child/youth has been identified with a special need (physical, developmental, behavioral, impaired), an Inclusion Action Plan must be approved prior to enrollment. Note: If you have an existing account from another installation, please contact the front desk for account transfer. In addition to CYPBMS-Parent Portal the following needs to be completed:

  • Complete Special Needs paperwork if applicable.

All payments are now run through the CYPBMS-Parent Portal, cash and checks are no longer accepted.

 

Week 1: Power Up

Monday – Friday, June 8 – 12 | 8 am – Noon

This week youth focus on the 1st week of summer camp by powering up and mastering safety skills and responsibility. Youth will tour surrounding areas of the youth center, while creating individual camp tote bags, and individual first aid kits.

Thursday will be swimming at Scheels Aim High Big Sky Aquatic and Recreation Center.

Week 2: Montana History

Monday – Thursday, June 15 – 19 | 8 am – Noon

Join the Youth Center as we explore several historical points of interest located here in Great Falls Montana. The History Museum, the CMR museum and a hometown store “The Farmers Daughter” will offer youth an insight into the rich blend of Montana traditions and history.

Thursday will be swimming at Scheels Aim High Big Sky Aquatic and Recreation Center.

Week 3: Survival Air Force Specialty Camp

Monday-Friday, June 22 – 26 | 8 am – Noon

Do you have what it takes to survive! Each day brings hands-on adventures, friendly competitions and problem-solving missions designed to build confidence and resilience. Youth will leave with new skills, friends and pride in knowing they can adapt, lead and thrive!

Week 4: Camping at Crystal Lake

Monday – Wednesday, June 29 – July 1 | 8 am – 4 pm

Thursday, July 2nd | 8 am – Noon

For two nights, and two days, youth will experience the great outdoors at the Crystal Lake Campground in the beautiful Big Snowies south of Lewistown. Youth will enjoy hiking, canoeing, outdoor cooking and memories that will last a lifetime.

Week 5: Archery Air Force Specialty Camp

Tuesday – Thursday, July 6 – July 10 | 8 am – Noon

Whether you are a modern-day Robin Hood, an experienced marksman or just learning to use a bow, Archery camp is designed to teach safety, focus and proper shooting techniques. Campers will build skills through guided practice, games and friendly competitions while improving confidence and concentration.

Week 6: Volleyball Air Force Specialty Camp

Monday – Friday, July 13 – 17 | 8 am – Noon

Bump, set and spike your way through an energetic Volleyball Camp focused on FUNdamentals. Campers will learn serving, passing, teamwork and game strategy through drills and friendly scrimmages. Youth will build confidence, improve coordination and enjoy healthy competition in a supportive environment.

Week 7: Digital Arts and Animation Air Force Specialty Camp

Monday – Friday, July 20 – 24 | 8 am – Noon

Explore creativity while learning the basics of digital drawing, character design and simple animation. Campers will use fun tools and guided projects to bring their ideas to life! Youth will build creativity, tech skills and confidence as they showcase their own animated creations.

Week 8: Digital Game Design Air Force Specialty Camp

Monday – Friday, July 27 – 31 | 8 am – Noon

This digital game specialty camp offers a structured yet imaginative environment that keeps campers engaged during the summer.  This camp bridges the gap between passive screen time and active digital literacy, encouraging campers to become creators.

Week 9: Healthy Lifestyles 4H Camp

Monday- Friday, August 3 – 7 | 8 am – Noon

Youth will build strong minds and bodies at the 4-H Healthy Lifestyle and Fitness Camp. Youth will explore nutrition, movement for life, goal setting and wellness habits through interactive games and hands-on activities. Swimming on Thursday at Scheels Aim High Big Sky Aquatic and Recreation.

Week 10: The Arts Air Force Specialty Camp

Monday – Friday, August 10 – 14 | 8 am – Noon

Join us this week as youth explore a variety of art mediums and techniques, gain an awareness of different art styles and artists, and develop skills in creativity, design, aesthetics, etc. while building technical skills in visual, applied and artisanal arts domains.

Week 11: Disc Golf

Monday – Friday, August 17 – 21 | 8 am – Noon

Join us this week, as youth develop and learn the fundamentals of throwing the discs from elevated areas into the targets (metal baskets). Swimming on Thursday at Scheels Aim High Big Sky Aquatic and Recreation.
