Family Geocaching Hike on the North Shore Trails

Saturday, November 25 | 10 am – 3 pm
Come join us for a family after Thanksgiving adventure. We will head to the North Shore trails near Morony Dam go for a hike finding hidden geocaches along the way. The short 3.6 mile hike to Sulphur Spring will feature at least 5 geocaches near our path. Hot Chocolate will be provided when we return to the Van to warm back up again after the hike. Outdoor Rec will provide transportation, hot chocolate and the GPS units.

Sunday, November 26 | 9 am – 3 pm
Explore the Sluice Boxes during the off season, we will stay far away from the creek, only looking at the frigid waters. This easy 7-mile out and back hike is a great way to say active during the winter. Bring plenty of layers for changing temperatures, snacks, water and comfortable hiking shoes.
Cost: $25; SAI & Deployed Affected - $10

Saturday, December 2 | 8 am – 5 pm
Snowshoe the Continental Divide Trail at Rodgers Pass. We will start out with a steep 2 mile climb to the ridge then follow the ridge line towards Lewis and Clark Pass. Along the ridge we will be rewarded with endless views of Montana’s Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains stretching to the horizon to the east. This 6 mile round trip snowshoe will be moderately difficult. Bring lunch, snacks and drinks.
Cost: $30; SAI & Deployed Affected - $15 *trip is dependent on weather conditions

Rocky Mountain Front Photo Safari with Kirk Clark

Saturday, December 9 | 5:30 am – 2 pm
Come join Outdoor Recreation for an incredible Photographic Safari on the Rocky Mountain Front. International Photographer Kirk Clark will be along to assist all levels with photography tips and tricks, as well as answer any equipment questions. Bring lots of layers, dress warm, bring extra camera batteries, your camera’s user manual, lunch and snacks. We’ll provide snowshoes for short hikes on the Front, transportation, photo instruction, hot chocolate and cider.

Dearborn Canyon Snowshoe

Saturday, December 16 | 9 am – 4 pm
Follow the Dearborn River as it exits the Scapegoat Wilderness surrounded by limestone formations on this out and back hike. We will likely hike 7-9 miles (moderate) Bring gear for variable weather, lunch, water, and good hiking shoes/boots.

Cross Country Ski Day

Sunday, December 17 | 9 am – 4 pm
Learn how to participate in this great winter fitness sport! The class will cover the basics of starting, stopping, turning, and gliding across the snow on cross country skis. Class includes equipment and transportation. Remember to bring snacks and drinks. Cost: $35; SAI & Deployed Affected - $15
