Powerlifting Competition

Powerlifting Competition

Thursday, September 21, 5 pm
Come show us what you’re made of at the Powerlifting Competition! This event will be held at the Fitness Center and is open to everyone ages 18 and up. Each competitor will be given time to warm up before their first lift and three attempts for each lift. The weight of the last completed lift will be the one recorded. Competitors will be placed in a weight class, weigh-ins will be the day prior to the event – come in any time to weigh in!

This is a friendly competition with male and female participation. Prizes have not yet been determined for this event.


Zombie Fun Run

Zombie Fun Run

Friday, October 27, 5 pm
Malmstrom’s Zombie Run 5K is a 3.1 mile obstacle course beginning at Balfour Beatty Community Center and continuing through a zombie infested wasteland, where participants will have to dodge brain-thirsty, ravenous undead while scrambling through a variety of obstacles. There will be approximately 7-9 obstacles spread throughout the course. Each participant will be provided with a belt equipped with “life flags”, which zombies will attempt to steal. To be eligible for prizes, participants must complete the race with at least one “life flag” attached to their belt. Regardless of whether or not you keep your flags and conquer each obstacle, everyone can still finish the race. After the race, the Humans and Zombies will set aside their differences to share light refreshments with music at the Balfour Beatty Community Center. This race is meant for your everyday person; however, it will still pose a challenge. You will need to train and mentally prepare for some of these obstacles. Participants must be 13 years of age and older. Participants 13 - 17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.


Missile Power Fitness

Struggling with your PT test? We can help! The Fitness Center is hosting free sessions aimed to help you refine your fitness and increase your test scores. Sessions are led by PTL’s and we will keep track of your progress. This program is intended for military members only, no dependents. We will meet three times weekly, Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 am and Tuesdays at 4 pm. Please stop by our front desk for more information or just give us a call at 731-3600.

BENCH-A-NUKE

All Year
Come join us for this self-paced strength competition! Each participant is in charge of tracking and recording how much weight they lift through the Fitness Center front desk staff. The first 4 people to reach the goal get a $100 gift card to Total Nutrition & Tanning. Everyone who completes the goal will receive a T-Shirt.
Eligibility: Open to military members, DOD civilians, and their dependents; age restrictions apply IAW AFI 34-266. Participants 13-15 years old need to be supervised by their parents/legal guardian.

This program will allow you access to the fitness center after hours and is intended to provide airman who are unable to use the facility during normal operating hours an opportunity to maintain their fitness standards and goals. Open to Active, Guard, Reserve, DoD Civilians and their dependents over the age of 18.

The Fitness Center is soliciting volunteers for all intramural sports: Basketball, Flag Football, Volleyball and Softball.
If you have any questions or want to volunteer, please contact Fitness Center.

Show up time for all events is 30 minutes prior to start time.
