Summer Family Adventure Trips

Your family is sure to have lasting memories whether it’s exploring a dinosaur museum, rafting a Montana river or hiking in Glacier Park.

Deployed Affected Families receive special discounts on all trips as part of the Air Force Services Activity R4R program. Families are eligible for this program from the time the service member receives their deployment papers and comes to a close a full year after their return home.

The Family Adventure Trips are open to all military and DoD personnel and their immediate family members only. Payment for all trips is due at the time of registration. There will be no refunds after the trip registration deadline date.

TRIPS


Two Medicine Dinosaur and Old Trail Museums
Wednesday, June 27 | 8:30 am – 4 pm
The Old Trail Museum in Choteau shows off the rich, natural and cultural history of Montana’s Rocky Mountains. The Two Medicine Dinosaur Museum in Bynum has the world’s longest skeletal model of a Seismasaurus along with Duckbills and a T-rex.
Cost: $5 – Deployed Affected; $10 – Per Person

Glacier Saddle & Paddle Overnight Camp-Out for Deployed Affected Families
Thursday, July 12 – Friday, July 13
Enjoy a tour of Glacier Park on the historic Red Bus. Camp overnight at the West Glacier KOA and the next day enjoy the Saddle and Paddle: horseback ride and a scenic float on the Middle Fork of Flathead River. Must be at least 7 years old to go on the horseback ride.
Cost: $25 – Deployed Affected (up to $75 per family)

East Glacier Horseback Ride
Friday, July 20 | 8 am – 8:30 pm
Saddle up for some good old fashioned fun on a guided 3 hour horseback trip through Glacier National Park into the heart of Native American land. You’ll have a chance to observe wildlife along with all the breathtaking beauty of the mountain forest. Prior to the ride there will be a trip to Two Medicine Lake. **NOTE: Must be 8 years old to ride.
Cost: $5 – Deployed Affected; $120 – Per Person

Many Glacier Family Hike
Monday, July 30
Depart: 7:30 am | Return: 8 pm
Many Glacier is in the heart of Glacier National Park. Its massive mountains, active glaciers, sparkling lakes and abundant wildlife make it a must see. There’ll be an easy 3.6 mile round trip hike to Redrock Falls.
Cost: $5 – Deployed Affected; $10 – Per person

Gates of the Mountains Boat Tour
Friday, August 3 | 9 am – 4 pm
Lewis & Clark saw it and were impressed — you will be too! Great towering
walls of limestone stand guard over the Missouri River. Its home to some of
Montana’s most diverse wildlife such as: bighorn sheep, mountain goats,
bears, eagles and more! Come enjoy the relaxing boat ride with your family.
Cost: $5 – Deployed Affected; $14 – Ages 18+; $13 – Ages 4-17

Scenic Float Trip
Thursday, August 17 | 7 am – 9:30 pm
This is the perfect trip for families with young children, ages 3 & up. Experience the beauty of Glacier National Park and the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. Great for bird-lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.
Cost: $5 – Deployed Affected; $65 – Ages 13+; $55 – Ages 3-12;
