Jack Rabbit On Base Cross Country Skiing and Learn-to-Ski

Date, depends on the snow
When there is enough snow on base, Outdoor Recreation will groom cross country ski tracks around Minuteman Village and along Perimeter Rd out to the heat plant. When it starts to snow, call ODR (3263), watch for signs, or check this page to get the latest update on activities. Also watch for free on-base Learn-to-Ski lessons and check out ODR’s over-night cross country ski rates.

Easy Moderate Difficult Wing Ski Days, Showdown Ski Resort

Join your friends to ski at Showdown! You can get reduced rate lift tickets and equipment at Outdoor Recreation (equipment free for E1-E4, half price rentals for all others). Military and dependents can ride the bus there and back for free. Don’t miss the fun. You may check out equipment the day before to avoid the rush. The bus departs Grizzly Bend Club at 8 am.

Jack Rabbit-Easy Wing Ski Day, Cross Country Ski or Snowshoe

Wednesday, March 31, from 10 am to 2 pm (Not offered on March 11)
Snowshoe or cross country ski on Wing Ski Day to experience some fantastic winter scenery. ODR will have equipment at the trail head to issue if you need it. Instruction offered, also. There’ll be hot cider and a fire at the warming hut. Depart Grizzly Bend Club at 8 am.

Easy Moderate Difficult SPRING Big Sky Military Appreciation Weekend

Depart Friday, March 26, at 5 pm
Return Sunday, March 28, around 10 pm
SPRING SKIING SPECIAL. For the 2nd year, Big Sky has added a Spring Military Appreciation Weekend! This Outdoor Recreation package makes it easy. Sign-up now for some great spring skiing! Trip includes lodging, transportation and ski/snowboard equipment.
Purchase your lift tickets at Big Sky. Military: $39.50 or dependent lift ticket: $69. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Cost per person: starts at $160 per person – no Club card discount.

Jack Rabbit-Easy Family Snow Tubing Outing

Saturday, April. 3, from 9 am to 6 pm
We’ll find a spot in the mountains where moms and dads can have a fun-filled day racing with the kids down the hillside on inner tubes. No experience necessary.
Cost: Adults - $10 adults; Children (ages 3-14) - $4. Club Card 10% discount honored. Free with a DePLAYment tag.

Lynx-Moderate Jack Rabbit-Easy Whitewater Raft Guide Training

Interested in whitewater rafting? Become an Outdoor Rec Volunteer Raft Guide! Receive training worth hundreds and gain invaluable experience through being on the river! Our 7.5 hour class room and 2 - 4 days on-river training will start you on an exciting summer leading paddle crews down Class III whitewater.
Session I: April 12 or 15
Session II: April 19 or 22
Session III: April 26 or 29
On-river Training (all day): (attend at least 2 days) April 24 & 25 and May 1 & 2
Cost: $40 (non-refundable) Pay prior to on-river training.

ADVENTURE WHITEWATER PADDLERS

Sat and/or Sun, Apr 24 & 25 and/or May 1 & 2
from 6 am to 10 pm each day
Get out on the river early during the Raft Guide Training sessions. Guide trainees could use some paddlers to help them train. You’ll pick up some tips on handling a raft while having a great time.
Cost: $20 per day. Camping near the river will be available if you want to do both days of a weekend. Call ODR for details
