Kayak Roll and Intro to Strokes Class

Kayak Roll and Intro to Strokes Class

Monday, July 13, 6 to 8:30 pm
Learn the basic strokes of kayaking, as well as the fundamentals of the kayak roll. The beginning class will be conducted at the base pool and will provide instruction to advance your skills to moving water. Experienced whitewater instructors will provide the instruction and ODR will provide all of the equipment. Class limited to 10.
Cost: $30


Highwood Mountains Crash Site Hike

Highwood Mountains Crash Site Hike

Friday, July 17, 8 am to 6 pm
Head out to the Highwood Mountains for a full day of hiking (about 10 miles). We will blaze our own trail as we ascend Mid Peak and South Peak, eventually reaching the location of the 1950 C-54 crash site, which sits largely as it was 65 years ago. The hike is moderate-to-strenuous with little to no trail along the way.
Cost: $30

Join us for a 5k run on the RED HORSE trail! This event is open to the community and is free of charge. There will be water stations throughout the trail with volunteers to help make sure everyone stays on track. Volunteers are needed for this event – please contact SrA Murray if interested in volunteering.


RUCK IT Challenge

RUCK IT Challenge

Hike designated routes or on the treadmill and keep track of your miles! The RUCK IT Challenge is walking at a fast pace with a rucksack of designated weight for males and females. Participants may use their own rucksack or the Fitness Center has a limited quantity available for use. Keep track of your miles for progress incentives!
T-shirts and other giveaways will be awarded for milestones. Milestones are 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 miles.
